InPS claims increased market share

  • 8 December 2004

InPractice Systems (InPS) have announced an increase of market share in its primary care information software Vision 3 that now represents 20% of GP practices, and new installations in all LSP areas in England.

Max Brighton, managing director of InPS, said: “This sales growth highlights the benefits and efficiency gains that Vision delivers to users right now. We are committed to further extending Vision’s functionality and user benefits, while ensuring full compliance with NPfIT requirements as the programme progresses."

In September, the National Vision User Group, which represents users of the software, told members that under current contract rules GPs could not be forced to switch systems. The letter was in response to member concerns that they would have to switch GP IT systems if their LSP had not accredited Vision 3.

According to InPS, this increase of market share represents continuing support among GPs for the development of the software according to the requirements of NPfIT. The software is installed at nearly 2,000 practices.

“Under the existing contractual arrangement, no one can be forced to move from Vision," the NVUG reassured its members.
