InPS launches new self check-in solution

  • 29 March 2005

The latest self-service check-in technology is now available for practices using In Practice Systems’ Vision 3.0.

Billed as the ‘next generation touch screen patient self check-in solution’ the new X-Touch software was launched by In Practice Systems (InPS) at Healthcare Computing last week in Harrogate.

Developed with information display specialists, Jayex Technology, X-Touch software is pre-installed in touch screens and communicates directly with InPS’s Vision 3.0 primary care software. This facilitates real time data exchange and updates, allowing the patient to check in for an appointment, take a ticket if required and register their arrival on the practice database.

The self check-in screen can welcome patients in a number of languages, depending on local requirements. The software can also be configured to create and issue unique call numbers for patients on arrival to protect their identity, should this be requested. The system can be wall-mounted, free standing or supplied with a desk mount.

InPS point out that the system can also be a powerful tool for practice managers and administrative staff, providing an instant snapshot of all booked appointments, the patients who are waiting and those in consultation. Staff can create active messages for the waiting room and view patient queue lists for individual doctors.

InPS sales and marketing director, David Hinkson, said: “Vision X-Touch will streamline practice management and give doctors and staff valuable real-time information on patients and consultations.”
