Doctors.net.uk launches pharma marketing arm

Doctors.net.uk has announced the launch of MedeConnect, a new division that will provide the electronic marketing and market research services for pharma clients on behalf by the online doctor’s portal and email service.

MedeConnect will focus entirely on providing services to pharmaceutical customers. Services will include communication with doctors and market research of individual doctor’s attitudes and prescribing preferences.

According the Doctors.net.uk the new division combines the most effective online marketing campaigns with exclusive access to the largest UK doctor network.

The firm claims to have carried out more online campaigns that have reached more doctors than any other firm in the UK.

Erik Jan Scholten, MedeConnect’s new managing director, said the new division was able to provide pharma customers "with the online solutions in terms of content and reach, both essential ingredients to achieve the required impact.”

Louise Shearer, Director of Market Research at MedeConnect added: “Access to the large network of doctors who are already profiled and provide information on their prescribing allows our customers to conduct highly targeted research to support improved decision making.”

The fifteen strong MedeConnect team has expertise in online marketing campaign design and development, survey design, analysis and reporting and account management, dedicated to the pharmaceutical customer.

Specific services to be offered will include: e-detailing, medical education; sales force effectiveness enhancement; sampling; ad hoc market research; detail follow up and PinPoint – a database of individual doctor prescribing potential and preferences.
