System C named in best employers list

  • 14 March 2006

Healthcare IT systems and services specialists, System C Healthcare, has been ranked as one of the best small/medium enterprise companies to work for in the Sunday Times’ annual survey for the second year running.

The survey highlighted that “83% of employees have pride in working for the organisation and 84% are very engaged in where the company is going”.

System C chief executive, Dr Ian Denley, said: “System C’s goal is to improve patient care and the working lives of healthcare professionals by providing a full range of professional IT services for the NHS and healthcare market. This award is testimony to the staff and culture at System C and we are delighted to be represented for the second year within the top 100. It is particularly rewarding as the past year has been important in terms of development and yet we have maintained our commitment to employee satisfaction”.

System C floated in the Alternative Investments Market (AIM) in June last year. It has grown sharply by refocusing itself as a service provider for the National Programme for IT.

The company, ranked 60 in the list, was commended for its maternity leave policy and provision for new fathers which betters the national guidelines. System C says employee satisfaction is a priority and a variety of schemes are in place to ensure that people feel appreciated. In addition to formal reward and remuneration methods, the company says it maintains a personal touch sending gifts or flowers to staff to mark personal occasions and matches individuals’ charity fund-raising efforts with its own donations.

The awards were based upon a confidential employee questionnaire, which compiled their views upon overall company leadership, management and team. In addition employees were asked about their perceived well-being and prospects for personal growth.
