New information chief sought

  • 1 November 2007

The hunt is on for a new leader for the NHS Information Centre for Health and Social Care.

Advertisements for the chief executive’s job, carrying a salary of £96,235 – £136,755, have been published inviting applications from candidates who can “inspire and lead the organisation, ensuring that it delivers high quality information to frontline NHS and Social Care stakeholders.”

The post has been vacant since the departure of Professor Denise Lievesley in July with Tim Straughan, IC’s director of finance and corporate services filling in as acting chief executive.

Professor Lievesley completed two years in the job, overseeing the move of hundreds of staff to Leeds – and taking a lot of the flak for a controversial deal to form a joint venture with Dr Foster Intelligence.

The job description says: “The post-holder will develop the vision and strategy of the organisation, leading it into the future by building a winning culture and raising the relevance and importance of its information products and services.
