60 Second Interview: David Haycox

  • 11 December 2007

David Haycox is head of IM&T at Mid Staffordshire General Hospitals NHS Trust. He was instrumental in deploying iSoft’s iCM patient administration system after a five year wait, outside of the National Programme for IT. Here, we take a look at how he relaxes away from the monitoring all things IT.

What’s the first thing you do when you get into the office?

Put the coffee on, then put the computer on

Your favourite gadget at the moment?

My new BMW 3 series convertible

Favourite book or song (or both!)?

Anything by Lily Allen – great lyrics played loud in the car and awesome live

Pet hate?

Techie jargon given to me as excuses for problems

Favourite website?

www.grand-massif.com to check out snow conditions ready for ski trips to my apartment in Morillon 1100

What annoys you?

Those who bring me problems and not solutions

In a perfect world, what would you be doing?

Right now, snow boarding in Grand Massif in French Alps

What’s caught your eye recently?

That would be telling!! Ok, on a work front, World Health Congress Europe 2008 – looks like some great speakers and Berlin sounds like a good place to go

e-Health innovation that interests you at the moment?

Lorenzo!! – well, the sculpture titled Lorenzo in iSoft’s Banbury offices is pretty impressive!
