The CETIR radiology group, one of the two main private providers of radiological services in Catalonia, Spain, is to deploy Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX PACS system.

Specifically the system will be deployed at the CETIR headquarters in Esplugues de Llobregat, just outside Barcelona, and two satellite sites, with the go live planned later this month.

Marçal Aguado, CETIR director of information systems, said: “Some of the reasons why we have chosen to work with Agfa HealthCare are the trusted working relationships we have had with them in the past, the excellent technical competence of its employees and their reputed technology support. We know Agfa HealthCare is ideally suited for this integration in our healthcare enterprise.”

Around 80 radiologists and other specialist staff will use the system on a daily basis. Currently making almost 300,000 exams every year, the group hopes the PACS installation will enable them to extend this to over 400,000 exams per year.

Working with the group allows us to contribute to the business development of an excellent and innovative organisation. This is a challenge for us which gives us a lot of professional satisfaction.”
