- 9 January 2009
The University of Antwerp Hospital has awarded a contract with Agfa to provide it with enhanced cardiovascular diagnostic imaging and reporting.
Agfa HealthCare will install its IMPAX Cardiovascular solution, providing enterprise-wide access to cardiology patient records to meet the high volume diagnostic needs of the department. The deal is for eight-years and includes maintenance and licensing.
The University Hospital Antwerp, in Belgium, counts 38 specialised medical services and treats nearly 200,000 patients per year. The hospital has 2,500 employees.
Agfa says that IMPAX Cardiovascular is designed to meet the image review and reporting needs of cardiologists on a platform that supports departmental and enterprise workflow.
The system provides image acquisition, display, reporting, storage and distribution management from multiple cardiovascular imaging modalities. From any cardiovascular review station, users can access images, data and reports for point of care delivery in a unified and efficient workflow.
"We selected the IMPAX Cardiovascular solution from Agfa HealthCare for its ability to easily integrate with our existing multi-vendor, multimodality solutions, as well as the ability of the team to meet both our technical and clinical requirements," states Professor Vrints, head of cardiology, Antwerp University Hospital.
"We are proud to have been selected by the Antwerp University Hospital", states Georgios Spitadakis, global business manager for Imaging Informatics. "We look forward to a successful co-operation with the University Hospital in the coming years."
