2009 Baltic e-health conference announced

  • 29 May 2009

The third Baltic Conference on e-health will take place in Hamburg on September 16, 2009, and this year focus on cross-border care.

The conference, to be hosted in the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, will focus primarily on Cross-Border Healthcare, optimisation of clinical and business processes and telemedicine.

The event aims to provide a cross sector forum for healthcare providers and to allow attendees including representatives from hospitals, governments, health insurance organisations and service providers to exchange views.

The event will this year feature a new pre-opening session, on 15 June, before the conference. The pre-opening session will allow attendees to experience a guided tour through the new University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) hailed as Europe’s most advanced hospital.

It will also provide a presentation on the challenges of health tourism in EU-cross border care as well as a panel discussion on cross border healthcare.

The programme will feature presentations including ‘realising value on investment in e-Health through process optimisation and change management’ by Douglas Cusick, Provider Healthcare, IBM global business development leader and ‘ambulance to discharge with new technology’ by Hans Erik Henriksen, chief executive officer of Cetrea A/S.

The event, organised by the Baltic Sea Forum, Baltic Sea States sub-regional Co-operation, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and IBM, will be held in English.
