Sectra reports strong growth

Swedish health IT firm Sectra has reported strong growth, with sales increasing by 16.2% to €82.6m (SEK 863.3m) (742.9) compared with the preceding fiscal year.

Orders rose 13.1% to €110m (SEK 1,149.7m). Profit after financial items was €6.8m (SEK 71.4m), equating to a profit margin of 8.3%.

In the fourth quarter of the year Sectra’s net sales rose 17.5% to €25.1m (SEK 263.7m), while bookings increased by 31,2%.

Sectra continued to expand internationally with sales outside Sweden accounting for 70% of the group’s sales.

“The Medical Systems business area continued to expand during the 2008/2009 fiscal year despite weaker economic conditions worldwide,” said Jan-Olof Brüer, president and CEO of Sectra AB.

The highest rate of growth came in mammography, which grew 50% during the 2008/2009 financial year.
