HSS completes EuroKing buy-out
- 26 November 2009
EuroKing Miracle has confirmed that is has been acquired by Healthcare Software Systems (HSS).
The company faced liquidation by HM Revenue and Customs for non-payment of PAYE contributions. However, it was bought out by HSS before the hearing went ahead at the High Court of Justice’s Chancery Division.
Mark Sprigg, chief executive officer of EuroKing Miracle, told E-Health Insider: “The case was brought as a result of non-payment of PAYE.
“A winding up order was issued in respect sums owed. This case was dismissed as a result of HMRC accepting payment of this and any other liabilities to them as a component of the acquisition.”
EuroKing has been the dominant supplier of maternity information systems in the UK and Ireland for more than 25 years. Sprigg said the acquisition would be beneficial to EuroKing’s existing clients.
He said: “We believe this is excellent news for EuroKing clients – HSS brings market, industry and technical knowledge to the party as well as a sound financial base.”
Sprigg confirmed that all maintenance and implementation contracts will be honored in full and that the company will shortly be offering 24 x 7 support and maintenance to all EuroKing clients.
He also said that the company will continue to develop the product and that it is currently finalising the formal roadmap which will be published to all clients when it is complete.
Sprigg would not reveal how much the company was bought for but said that EuroKing Miracle’s creditors will be honoured in full.
The company, now called HSS EuroKing, will operate as normal from its offices in Surrey. It will continue to be overseen by its chief executive and management team.
However, there will be an alignment of processes and procedures between HSS and EuroKing. HSS said this would have the "express purpose of sharing HSS’s exacting standards around quality and delivery across the group."
