iSoft signs first PACS deal in Germany
- 10 December 2009
ISoft has announced that it has taken the first order for its new Picture Archiving and Communications System in Germany.
The Diagnostische Zentrum am Vincentinum in Southern Germany has signed a €130,000 agreement to implement the system at its specialist diagnostic centre in Augsburg.
The deal is worth €70,000 in licence and implementation fees and €60,000 for services over five years, and for the first time provides the application as a service.
Isoft launched the PACS in June as a standalone product or to integrate with the company’s existing software. ISoft’s partner company, Ambicotec is hosting the application at its data centre in Frankfurt and will provide access on demand to users.
The announcement comes alongside further contract wins by the company in other parts of Germany.
Franciscans of the Holy Cross signed a €1m contract for a hospital information system at its St Marienwörth Hospital at Bad Kreuznach in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The contract will aid the hospital in its IT infrastructure overhaul and expansion plans and includes iSoft Portal, part of the Lorenzo Collaboration Suite, which allows GPs to refer patients and access patient records online.
It also includes iSoft’s ClinicCentre HIS, its radiology information system, and iSoft BusinessCentre for enterprise resource planning.
A further deal with Muenster-based hospital group Misericordia has also brought in €214,000 for the company after it signed a deal to integrate two laboratory services using iSoft Laboratory.
Peter Herrmann, managing director of iSoft Central Europe, said: “There is a growing trend in Germany and Europe generally for ‘application services’ that allow customers a high degree of flexibility at lower costs.
"It avoids the need for major investments in server technology and is a very attractive, cost-effective option for radiology centres of all sizes.”
