AnyDoc wins Swiss hospital deal

  • 27 January 2010

AnyDoc Software, an automated classification and data capture software provider, has been selected by Stephanshorn hospital in Northern Switzerland to digitize patient records.

The Stephansorn hospital currently processes more than 50 different document types manually. Using the new software the hospital plans to digitize and automatically classify documents, data and images.

The AnyDoc software identifies each incoming document, indexes it, and automatically files and synchronizes it to the appropriate record.

The system then securely delivers the classified documents including the index information to the archiving system, which can be quickly and easily retrieved by allowing staff members to have direct access.

Stefano Raciti, manager of IT at the hospital said: “A hospital our size depends on efficient, fast, and reliable records management—and that’s exactly what the AnyDoc patient records solution offers.

The AnyDoc patient records implementation will begin running in one care unit of the 85 bed hospital, and will then be rolled out gradually across the rest of the hospital.

Daniel Izsak, general manager of AnyDoc Software in Europe, said: “Many software vendors only classify documents according to a barcoded cover page that the customer needs to generate for each patient record.

“The record itself is then scanned and archived as a multiple-page document. This might allow fast scanning, but it overly encumbers staff thereafter, because they cannot retrieve the necessary documents quick enough or efficiently when needed. AnyDoc patient records, however classifies each document within the record automatically.”
