Forcare to make debut at HIMSS

  • 18 February 2010

Dutch software company, Forcare will appear at HIMSS 2010 in Atlanta for the first time to showcase what it describes as “a fully standardised software solution suite for health information exchanges”.

The Dutch company, which supplies interoperability software across Europe to help clinical users gain access and share available patient information, will launch two new health information exchange enablers at the event, forShare and Forcare’s HIE XDS toolkit (cross enterprise document sharing).

The company says that the launch of forShare will simplify HIE development and provides “XDS in a box.”

The product is supplied as an appliance that is ready for development in a hospital network and acts as a standardised XDS gateway, which can be configured to integrate with existing clinical systems.

Andries Hamster, chief marketing officer, said: “Many customers have in-house developed clinical applications that would benefit from standardised clinical information sharing.

“Our XDS toolkit accelerates building HIE XDS compliance into those applications. The XDS toolkit is based on Forcare’s state-of-the-art IHE XDS libraries and benefits from broad customer exposure and HIE compliance testing.”

The company will demonstrate its software at booth 809 at HIMSS 2010 annual conference and exhibition 1-4 March 2010.
