Carestream Health has announced a long term digital imaging services agreement with Stichting Samenwerkende Ziekenhuizen Oost Groningen in the Netherlands.
In a statement coinciding with the European Congress of Radiology meeting in Vienna, the company said it would provide its new eHealth PACS Services to the group’s three hospitals.
eHealth PACS Services is the latest addition to Carestream’s eHealth Managed Services Portfolio, which also includes data protection and remote archving services. It is delivered on a pay per study model.
"This type of service offers the benefits of a predictable total cost of ownership with no hidden costs, guaranteed availability of data and tools with no system or data management requirements," said Patrick Koch, world wide business director, eHealth Managed Services, Carestream Health.
The three hospitals in the first deal operate three PACS systems from different vendors. Carestream will seek to unify RIS, PACS and archiving services during 2010.
Its Fryslan Data Centre in Leeuwarden will also provide secure, remote imaging, archiving and disaster recovery. The data centre isone of eight operated by the company in five countries across Europe and America.
Carestream Health was recently named ‘medical imaging company of the year’ by analysists Frost and Sullivan.
