VPH event to showcase results

  • 15 April 2010

The virtual physiological human project is organising an event to present results from the project and address ways of building a European industry based on them.

The VPH is a €350m European Commission funded initiative that aims to produce a computer model of the human body so that it can be investigated as a single complex system.

The two day meeting in Barcelona, Spain, that will be held on 8-9 November 2010 will enable those involved in the project to interact with members of the biomedical industry.

The programme will offer three types of session: research to business, where researchers will present industry delegates with their results; business to business where companies will present products and services that others can develop for end users; and regulatory to business, where experts will report on the position of simulation technologies with regards to regulatory affairs.

Organisers are asking those involved with the VPH research projects to participate by sending delegates, submitting an abstract of their presentation in their best research results and exploring with industrial partners the opportunity to present together.

The event will follow the first in a series of VPH Network of Excellence (VPH NoE) conferences that will be held from 30 September to 1 October, 2010.

The first meeting will be held in Brussels and will be dedicated to the VPH initiative, bringing together key representatives from VPH groups, industry and clinics, supported by the European Commission’s ICT for Health unit, part of DG Information Society and Media.
