GE delivers PACS to Eastern Europe
- 2 June 2010
GE Healthcare has partnered with Euromedic Diagnostics to implement its web-based PACS to Euromedic’s facilities in Poland and Hungary.
GE will implement its web-based Centricity PACS to provide more effective cooperation among health professionals. The system will allow image transfer from one hospital to another and also provide integrated advanced workflow solutions across any location and between multiple healthcare providers.
Dr Piotr Janicki, chief executive officer of Euromedic International, Poland, said. “Based on the long history of successful cooperation between us, as well as the superior technical features of the GE PACS installation, we have decided to rely on a solution that fulfills our needs and creates added value for our organisation.”
Dr Janicki added: “By empowering our staff with innovative IT technology, we are significantly improving the services to our patients. This clearly gives us a great technological advantage.”
The agreement will see 17 Polish and 11 Hungarian sites implement the system and a central data centre established in each country. The solution not only displays radiology digital images but any kind of image that is created in any hospital department and integrates with existing IT solutions.
Juergen Reyinger, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Our new partnership with Euromedic will accelerate the next wave of technological advances in Poland’s and Hungary’s healthcare systems.
"Looking to connect multiple institutions, vendors and the local population with a fully integrated IT solution, this ambitious project will definitely be one of Eastern Europe’s role model installations."
