Carestream Health has signed a distribution agreement with Apelem for its high-techremote controlled radiographic tables.

The distribution agreement will see Carestream sell two platinum tables developed by Apelem, a subsidiary of France’s leading developer in imagery radiology systems, DMS, exclusively to customers across France and Belgium.

Jean-Paul Ansel, managing director of DMS, said: “We are extremely proud that Carestream Health, a world leader in the medical imaging field, should show interest in our new remote controlled radiographic table solution.

“This distribution contract is testament to the technological excellence of the Platinum table and confirms its major potential in the radiography market. Given the commercial power of Carestream Health, we believe that this agreement will represent a major component of growth for the next several years.”

The two platinum models, which both have wireless functionality, will work alongside Carestream’s DRX-1 digital radiography portfolio, which can convert analogue x-ray rooms to direct radiology technology in less than a day.

Anton Graule, European sales and business development manager of medical imaging solutions at Carestream health, said: “The agreement reached with DMS will enable us to offer a complete range of medical imaging systems to our French and Belgian customers.

“We have been particularly impressed by the technical capabilities of the Platinum radiographic table, as well as by its design and the diagnostic aids developed by DMS which make this table unique in its market.”
