Forum to debate sustainable healthcare
- 5 July 2010
EHTEL, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and IBM have organised a Global E-Health Forum to present strategies, systems and services for more sustainable healthcare delivery.
The forum will take place in Hamburg, Germany on 25-26 October, and aims to attract 200 representatives from hospitals, clinics, governments, health insurers and service providers.
The impact of globalisation on healthcare systems and services will be discussed as well as the resulting requirements for interconnectivity, interoperability, standardisation and the need for cross border co-operation.
Ljubisav Matejevic, founder and director of the Global E-Health Forum, said: "Countries all over the world are facing manifold challenges regarding their healthcare delivery.
"Due to limited budgets and increasing demand for high-quality healthcare services, new cost-efficient, reliable and interconnected systems need to be developed.
"This is the reason why after three Baltic Conferences on E-Health (2007-2009), we have decided to found the Global E-Health forum. E-health can make an important contribution to ensure a high-quality healthcare service for all citizens now and in the future.”
Keynote speeches will be presented by speakers from the US, Europe and New Zealand including Harry Reynolds, chairman of the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics and chairman of the Council for Affordable Quality healthcare.
Supporters of the conference include European Association of Healthcare IT Managers Association, Koch-Mechnikov Forum and the German Hospital Society.
