Carestream acquires Quantum

  • 15 September 2010

Carestream Health has acquired Quantum Medical Imaging limited, a privately-held manufacturer of conventional and digital x-ray systems.

Carestream says the move makes it a ‘global leader’ in x-ray imaging, and that it will now work to expand both its medical imaging and healthcare IT solutions.

Quantum says the move will accelerate its growth, and that its dealers and customers will see significant benefits, including access to Carestream’s product portfolio.

Quantum will now be integrated into Carestream’s digital medical solutions business.

However, its existing chief executive, Scott Matovich, will continue to run its operations, reporting to Diana Nole, president of the Carestream business, and its headquarters and employees will remain in Long Island, New York.
