Medway gets iPad debut at EHI Live 2010

  • 6 November 2010

System C will demonstrate its Medway patient administration and electronic patient record system on iPad and slate mobile devices for the first time at EHI Live 2010.

The clinical software firm says the new tablet and mobile versions will enable clinicians and other healthcare professionals to access Medway’s functionality as well as other integrated healthcare applications at any time using a handheld device.

The company says mobile access information will ensure clinicians have real-time access to the full patient record and clinical work flows wherever they are, and can input data at the point of care without the device permanently storing it.

Dr Ian Denley, chief executive of System C, said: “We are very excited about the benefits trusts could get by giving staff mobile access to Medway.

"There are huge opportunities in terms of improving efficiency, clinical decision-making and the whole patient experience."

Medway is based on the latest Microsoft .NET technology and brings touch screen functionality to both the iPad and slate PCs.

Dr Denley added: “All this is made possible by means of a small, light device like the iPad or a slate PC.

"Not only are they are easy to use and less expensive compared to traditional solutions like computers on wheels, but to many care professionals and users they will be highly desirable objects in their own right.”

System C will be demonstrating Medway on the iPad and a slate PC on its stand (B50) at EHI on the 8th and 9th November.
