Microtest celebrates 30 year anniversary
- 19 November 2010
Primary care IT supplier Microtest has announced it is celebrating its pearl anniversary, after notching up 30 years of developing and producing GP clinical systems.
The Cornwall-based IT company was founded 30 years ago in 1980 when it began working with GPs to develop one of the first GP clinical systems in the UK.
The company says its first system focused on managing patient medication and repeat prescribing but was soon expanded to help practices with day to day patient care.
In 2006 Microtest began the design and development of their clinical system Evolution which is now used by all its GP practices.
The company said it has developed a reputation for providing leading-edge clinical systems and for listening and reacting positively to users as well as providing unrivalled support to customers.
Chris Netherton, managing director of Microtest, said: “We are delighted to still be at the forefront of GP clinical systems in the UK after 30 years in the industry. Our team of experts ensures that we provide the best possible service to our customers, while meeting and surpassing national requirements.”
The company was one of eight suppliers originally selected to be on the GP Systems of Choice framework in England in 2007 and is one of six suppliers who remain on the framework.
Dr Chris Tiley, a GP partner at Mevagissey Surgery in Mevagissey, Cornwall, said: “We have been using Microtest for 30 years now and we are looking forward to developing further improved services with their support – an upgraded website and online booking are just two areas where Microtest will be helping us.”
