HSS parent firm placed in administration

The owner of the firm behind the widely-used HSS radiology information system and EuroKing maternity system has been placed in administration.

Radman House Group, the parent company of healthcare IT businesses Apollo and Healthcare Software Systems, which is responsible for the HSS RIS and the EuroKing maternity system, was placed into administration in late January.

The owners of Radman House are seeking a ‘capital restructuring’.The restructuring is said to be well advanced and likely to be completed by the end of February.

HSS said it was business as usual despite the situation with its parent company. “The operation of our business, and provision of services to our customers, continues as usual.”

In a statement to eHealth Insider HSS added: “HSS is not in administration. The provision of services to the NHS and its other customers remain totally unaffected by the planned restructuring and business continues as usual.”

The statement said the plan was for HSS to become “a wholly independent standalone company, with its existing management and staff, fully funded to support its organic and acquisitive growth plans.”

According to its website, HSS is the largest independent supplier of RIS systems in the country. EHI Intelligence data counts 98 NHS trust customers for HSS RIS and 28 for EuroKing maternity.

Apollo Medical Systems’ SQL Suite data extraction software is installed in more than 7,000 practices in England. It has national contracts to supply data for QOF assessments for NHS Connecting for Health and the National Diabetic Audit for the NHS Information Centre.

Apollo managing director Steve Avery said the corporate restructure would see Apollo become an independent company.

“In order to facilitate a corporate restructure in support of the planned growth and development of Apollo Medical Systems Limited, its parent company Radman House Group Limited has been placed in administration,” he said.

“Apollo is not in administration. The provision of services to the NHS and its other customers remain totally unaffected by the planned restructuring and business continues as usual.

“Subsequently, this will see Apollo becoming a wholly independent standalone company, with its existing management and staff, fully funded to support its organic and acquisitive growth plans.”

Maternity information systems supplier EuroKing Miracle was bought by HSS in late 2009 when it was facing liquidation by HM Revenue and Customs for non-payment of PAYE contributions. HSS told EHI that EuroKing would become a part of the standalone company.

HSS EuroKing also has a digital pen system, a CTG monitoring system, and obstetric anaesthetics software.

The fourth company under the umbrella of Radman House is Radman Intelligence, which provides business intelligence and financial planning software to healthcare organisations.
