Former iSoft UK boss departs CSC

Adrian Stevens, the former UK managing director of iSoft, is to leave the business. CSC integrated iSoft into its healthcare group in April this year, 12 months after buying the healthcare software business.

A CSC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Adrian Stevens has elected to leave CSC’s Healthcare Group on 30 June 2012.”

Mark Thornton, who is currently operations director of the former iSoft business and who has 27 years’ experience of healthcare IT, will now lead this part of the business.

Thornton will report to Sheri Thureen, president of CSC UK Healthcare, who continues to lead the combined business.

Thureen, who has had to take extended absences from the business in the past year, reports to Guy Hains, CSC’s executive global lead for healthcare.

Stevens, who had previously been UK managing director of Agfa Healthcare, joined iSoft at the end of 2007. His most recent role was as managing director of iSoft UK and Ireland, Scandinavia, Middle East and Africa.

CSC Healthcare Group is in the midst of a round of major redundancies. In February, the company said it was planning to make up to 500 people working on its NHS account redundant, from a total of 1,700.

The company is still seeking to secure a new deal with the Department of Health for a new deal to deliver its Lorenzo electronic patient record software to around twenty sites.

CSC has warned investors that there is no guarantee such a deal will be secured and at the beginning of June its ‘standstill’ agreement with the NHS had been extended again to 31 August.
