Directors of information for regions

The NHS Commissioning Board is appointing four regional directors of patients and information.

The jobs come with a salary of £115,000. Two positions have already been filled and the North and the Midlands and East positions are being advertised.

Jane Barnacle has been appointed to the role in London and Ronan O’Connor in the South.

The regional directors will work under national director for patients and information Tim Kelsey.

The job advertisement says the regional directors will “ensure excellence in use of data and intelligence, making the best use of technology to improve outcomes”.

They will work with the area teams to “lead the co-ordination of strategies that support and assure local commissioners and providers” and improve communications between the NHS and its localities, it says.

“You will need experience of leading the creation or implementation of technology solutions across a large organisation with a customer or patient focus, supported by excellent influencing skills and the ability to deliver strategic and operational objectives.”
