More GPs in Web

More than 1,600 GP practices are live with EMIS Web.

EMIS Group’s trading update for the year ended 31 December 2012 says the Web roll-out accelerated during 2012 to complete 1,676 installations, of which 901 were in the second half of the year.

More than one third of EMIS’ GP customers now have the new system, compared with 8% at the start of last year, and more than 2,500 are in the familiarisation process.

“The withdrawal of iSoft from the UK primary care market led to considerable sales activity combined with a particular focus on Wales after EMIS was awarded one of only two Framework Agreements for the supply of a managed EMIS Web GP service solution,” the update says.

EMIS Group expects revenue of no less than £86m for 2012, up from £73m last year.

The accelerated roll-out of EMIS Web went to plan, but there was lower than planned revenue from an Australian defence contract, training and integrated care services, the update explains.

Community pharmacy division RX Systems rolled-out the Electronic Prescription Service Release 2 to the majority of its English customers. The company also bought pharmacy retail systems supplier Multepos Computer Systems this month.
