Maracis moves again – to Silverlink
- 8 February 2013
Silverlink Software has acquired Unity Mental Health from the Amor Group. The move is surprising, as Unity Mental Health was the name given to the electronic patient record system that Amor bought from Maracis Solutions in August.
At the time, Amor said that it would develop the system, which was specifically designed for mental health trusts, and build other services around it.
Silverlink provides patient administration systems to the NHS, working from its base near Newcastle. It has not disclosed how much it paid for Unity Mental Health, but says it will complement its PAS solution and give it a presence in a total of 20 NHS trusts.
Managing director Tim Quainton said: “The acquisition of the Unity Mental Health software suite represents an exciting development for Silverlink Software.
“We believe that the combined strengths of Silverlink PAS and the Unity Mental Health solution will be attractive to the NHS trust market, particularly given the increasing drive towards the integration of care across community, mental health and acute services.”
The new, combined organisation will be based in Silverlink’s head office in Newcastle and branch office in London.
Quainton added: “In addition to expanding the use of the Unity Mental Health solution within the existing customer base, Silverlink will be bidding for new contracts as they emerge in the mental health and community market in association with its well established partners.”
