Brighton and Sussex selects System C PAS

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust has selected System C as the supplier for its integrated patient administration system (PAS), Digital Health can reveal.
The contract, which also includes the implementation of Bluespier’s theatre management system and business intelligence software, was awarded after an extensive procurement process. Deployment of the new system is due to be completed in October 2018.
The acute trust has an annual budget in excess of £550m and 8,200 employees, of which 4,800 are users of the PAS.
Wilson Sharpe, assistant director of information management and technology at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, said: “A modern, efficient patient administration system is a fundamental requirement to providing good patient care. After an extensive procurement process, we are delighted to appoint System C to provide this key platform.”
System C’s Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals contract follows similar recent contracts with St Helens and Knowsley Teahcing Hospitals NHS Trust and North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.
Ian Denley, System C’s joint CEO, added: “Brighton and Sussex is our 25th main hospital system deployment and we are really pleased that they have chosen us. The Brighton team is professional and enthusiastic and we are looking forward to going live in October.”
This week East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust confirmed it has chosen Cerner as its EPR supplier.
