MDSAS selects Docman Connect to deliver electronic medical correspondence
- 27 March 2018
Medical software consultancy MDSAS has chosen Docman Connect to deliver medical correspondence to clinical practices.
MDSAS (Medical Data Solutions and Services) provides IT systems and consultancy for the NHS. The firm builds bespoke national and local databases and referral systems across a range of disciplines including immunology, haemophilia and spinal cord injury.
Docman will be piloted with nine practices in NHS Stockport CCG before expanding to a further 47 practices. The project means that 500- 2,000 monthly referrals to a dermatology consultant will now be made digitally, Docman said.
Docman Connect provides a cross-organisational platform to manage documents exchanged between healthcare providers via the cloud. The solution automates many of the processes of transferring documents, resulting in cost-savings for organisations sending and receiving correspondence.
When a document is sent through Docman Connect, it is sent with metadata that contains the practice details. This data is pulled from a data list that is centrally managed by Docman, to ensure that it’s always up-to-date.
This eliminates the need for MDSAS to maintain a list itself, the company said.
Enis Muminovic, development manager at MDSAS, said: “Docman Connect is the perfect solution to allow scalability alongside our future growth and ease of implementation. The solution fits our organisation perfectly, allowing us to overcome our current obstacle of maintaining an up-to-date list of local GP contacts.”
