Faculty of Clinical Informatics backs Rewired

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics (FCI) has become the latest membership organisation to support Digital Health Rewired, a new event connecting health IT leaders with the latest digital health innovations.

The FCI joins BCS Health and Care, the Royal College of Physicians Health Informatics Unit (HIU), the Professional Records Standards Body (PRSB) the Digital Health CCIO, CIO and CNIO networks, as partners on Rewired.

The knowledge and expertise of the Rewired partners will inform the programme for Digital Health Rewired, being held on 25-26 March 2019 at at Olympia London.

The FCI will join the Rewired programme board made up of NHS CIOs, CCIOs, CNIOs and industry representatives.

Over the two days of Rewired delegates will learning how to harness the full potential of digital to better integrate and deliver health services.

Day one of Digital Health Rewired begins with the Rewired Leadership Summit, which brings together health CCIOs, CIOs, CNIOs and C-suite executives to address the leadership challenges of digital transformation.  The Rewired Leadership Summit will be the fourth annual summit run by Digital Health.

Day two will be devoted to the Rewired Expo – which will showcase some of the very best local and national work of digital trailblazers in health and care, with a particular focus on integrated care and interoperability.

In addition, the Rewired Hack Day will run across the two days of the show, providing an opportunity for start-ups, developers, CCIOs and CIOs to work together on rapidly prototyping digital solutions to current health problems.  Their projects will be showcased on the afternoon of the Rewired Expo.

By partnering with Digital Health on Rewired, the FCI will be able to keep close to the issues and challenges facing NHS IT leaders today and provide support to these communities.

“We look forward to working with the Digital Health team around Rewired, which should provide opportunities for discussion and collaboration around training, standards and accreditation for clinical informaticians.”

The Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Physicians have been key in the FCI’s initiation, and the NHS paperless 2020 Building a Digital Ready Workforce programme has provided supporting resources.

The FCI has been established as the UK professional membership body for all clinical informaticians, including health and social care professionals, registered with the Professional Standards Authority.
