Fifth annual AXA Health Tech and You awards launched

The fifth annual AXA Health Tech and You awards have been launched and include a category that recognises pioneering start-ups.

The awards look to discover, promote and support the inventors and innovations in the health tech sector.

The four categories this year are:

  • The Innovation Category – To recognise pioneers in early stage start-ups
  • The Excellence Category – To recognise entrepreneurs leading later-stage businesses
  • The Mental Health in Children Challenge – To seek solutions that can support children and/or their parents in understanding and managing mental health
  • The Sleep Challenge – To address sleep problems and looking for affordable tools proven to change behaviour and deliver better sleeping patterns

The Innovation and Excellence categories will run continuously throughout the year and will be chosen through AXA Health Tech & You Expert Panel Group, comprising of leaders and experts from technology, health, charity, consumer advocacy, medical, design and media.

The two challenges were picked after AXA members identified their current health needs and concerns, for both themselves and their families.

Richard Cooper, head of digital at AXA PPP healthcare, said: “For over four years, AXA Health Tech & You has been successful in driving proactive consumer engagement in health and supporting innovation in this area.

“We are excited to continue this legacy by launching the programme for a fifth year, introducing categories that will discover health tech pioneers at different business stages, providing valuable, trusted innovations for consumers in the market place.

“Innovations in health technology are transforming the way we care for our minds and bodies. That’s why we at AXA are driven to discover and support the inventors of the future with the successful Awards programme for another year.”

An awards evening will be held on 22 May 2019, where the winners of each category will be announced.
