Rewired adds London CIO Council as latest partner
- 21 November 2018
The London CIO Council has been confirmed as the latest partner of Digital Health Rewired, the two-day conference and one-day exhibition focused on integrating health and care through the transformational use of technology and new ways of working.
Rewired will bring together delegates drawn from the largest community of NHS IT leaders and a diverse range of IT and clinical professionals, coming together for education, networking, best practice exchange and collaboration to achieve the benefits of digital health for all.
The London CIO Council will hold its March meeting on day two of Rewired, and contribute to the Rewired programme, which already includes a strong line-up of London-based digital health start-ups such as Babylon Health, Dr Doctor and Medopad.
Rewired delegates will be able to learn from the London CIO Council’s experiences from both local and London-wide collaborative IT programmes, including One Health, the London Health and Care Information Exchange initiative.
The council, which is mainly made up of CIOs and CCIOs from London-based trusts, clinical commissioning groups and commissioning support units, will use Rewired as a base to share ideas and learn from NHS and social care digital leaders throughout the UK.
Day two of Rewired focuses on the Rewired Conference and Exhibition, which connects health IT leaders and their teams with digital pioneers and key innovations across six dedicated exhibition and conference zones: Integrated Care, Clinical Software, AI and Analytics, Cyber Security, Cloud and Mobile, and Digital Imaging.
Clinical Software will feature the Council’s Chair, Stephen Docherty, CIO of South London and Maudsley NHS FT, and a mental health global digital exemplar, who will speak about the potential of open platform EPR 2.0 development in mental health.
Docherty said: “We are pleased to partner with Rewired as we feel that this is an event where we can share and learn with colleagues from across the sector and we have had the opportunity to contribute towards what will be an exciting two days for health leaders. Rewired supports the London CIO Council mission, where we come together as digital leaders across the capital to collaborate, define, influence and deliver an exceptional patient experience in one of the most complex health economies in the world.”
Across both days, council members will participate in the Rewired Hack Day alongside some of the UK’s exciting innovation start-ups and NHS IT professionals, to develop working proof of concepts for digital health applications.
Docherty joins the Council’s vice-chair and CIO at The Royal Marsden NHS FT, Lisa Emery, on the Rewired Event Programme Board, who along with other NHS CIOs, CCIOs, CNIOs and industry representatives will help shape the programme.
Emery added: “We’re really urging our members to attend Rewired, and Stephen and I are excited to be holding our March meeting there. From personal experience I know the benefits that you take back into your organisation from attending and participating in these events. There are real points of difference with the Rewired programme, and we’ve worked hard to make sure that the content will speak to CIOs across the UK.”
Jon Hoeksma, CEO of Digital Health, the team behind Rewired, added: “The London CIO Council is one of the most important and influential regional groups of NHS IT leaders and we extremely pleased to partner with them on Rewired.”
He added: “Digital Health runs events in cities across the UK, and celebrates the diversity and innovation in digital health across the country – our Summer Schools will continue to move city every year – but I’m pleased to confirm London will be the home of Rewired.”
Founded in 2013, the Council aims to support its members in providing clinicians and patients with accurate and timely information, which will lead to the delivery of better healthcare.
Digital Health Rewired is free for everyone from NHS, public sector, independent providers, charities and education sectors. Visit the registration page to confirm your place.
