Tameside and Glossop employ Civica’s cloud-based solutions

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust has selected Civica to provide cloud-based solutions.

The software company’s CostMaster cloud solution will provide the trust with a clearer view of its cost data to better inform the board of their finances and where to make cost savings.

It’s also hoped the solution will lower IT risks and improve operational performance at the trust which serves 250,000 people.

The system will provide end-to-end cost reporting as well as allowing the trust to expand its processing power to keep up with demand.

By hosting information in a secure managed cloud environment, the trust is also better protected against physical and cyber threats.

Dawn Murphy, finance business partner at the trust, said: “Due to the number of patients we serve daily, having a clear view of our activity and cost variation is vital.

“We need to be able to source the information required to make robust investment decisions and achieve the most effective use of our resources.

“We evaluated two other providers in conjunction with key stakeholders, but we felt that Civica’s system offered the best user experience for all staff, in the hospital and the community, including those with limited technical abilities.

“With Managed CostMaster, we can quickly start to remove much of the admin currently facing our internal IT teams, so they have more time to support critical frontline services.”

Civica serves more than 500 customers across the NHS and private sector, providing solutions including electronic prescribing and patient records to enhanced workforce efficiency.

The company provides cloud delivery to more than 20,000 clinicians, facilitates the scanning of 150 million documents and images and processes £60bn of NHS funds annually.
