Agfa enters talks to sell healthcare IT business to Dedalus

Agfa has announced it has entered into exclusive talks to sell part of its healthcare IT business to Dedalus.

The proposed deal is subject to consultations with employees, regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

If this is met, Dedalus will acquire 100% of Agfa’s Healthcare Information Solutions and Integrated Care activities, as well as associated Imaging IT activities integrated into these units, which carries an estimated value of £831million (975 million Euros).

The deal could be completed by the second quarter of 2020.

Christian Reinaudo, CEO of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, said he was “looking forward to this important step”.

He added: “We believe that under Dedalus Holding S.p.A.’s ownership, the business will continue to develop into a leading pan-European player in the HealthCare IT market.

“Going forward, Agfa HealthCare will focus on Imaging IT Solutions, continuing on its strategic track to deliver superior value to its customers, led by its flagship Enterprise Imaging platform.”
