The latest Digital Health Unplugged is now live – this time looking at the use of technology in care homes during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
Host Andrea Downey is joined by:
- Mandy Thorn, chair of Marches Care which owns care home The Uplands in Shropshire
- Carey Bloomer, managing director of The Uplands
- Keith Strahan, principal clinical lead for NHS Digital’s social care programme
The podcast looks at the use of technology in connecting people with loved ones during the pandemic, as well as the importance of shared records and digital solutions in improving care offerings.
It also looks at NHS Digital’s Social Care Digital Pathfinders programme, which aims to support projects looking at standardising information and developing digital ways of sharing that information between multiple health and care organisations.
Sixteen organisations will receive a share of £4.5m to enable them to roll out their local digital projects on a wider scale as part of the programme.
