Tara Donnelly to continue role as NHSX chief digital officer

Tara Donnelly has been confirmed at NHSX’s chief digital officer.

Donnelly was appointed as interim chief digital officer (CDO) at NHS England in January 2019 following the departure of Juliet Bauer.

The role then moved across to NHSX when it was launched in summer 2019.

Following an open recruitment process Donnelly was today (23 November) confirmed to be continuing the role in a permanent capacity.

Donnelly joined as interim CDO for NHS England from her role as chief executive of the Health Innovation Network.

She helped set up NHSX and has been a vocal advocate for innovation in the health services.

In an email confirming her appointment, seen by Digital Health News, NHSX chief executive Matthew Gould said Donnelly is “leading to drive remote monitoring has the potential to be genuinely transformative”.
