Push Doctor relaunches private video consultation service
Push Doctor is relaunching its private video consultation service for patients following an increase in demand for its services.
Having offered private video consultations to patients in the past, switching the service back on represents a small change to Push Doctor’s existing model.
Starting today, those who want to book secure private appointments with NHS clinicians will be able to do so directly from the Push Doctor app on their smartphone or device.
Costing £45, appointments are available at flexible timings to fit around a patient’s day and include same day prescriptions, instant sick notes and record syncing, where doctors’ notes will be available to the patient’s local GP surgery.
The company said its partnership with the health service will be unaffected by the private service relaunch and that supporting the platform’s 5.4 million NHS patients will remain a central priority.
Wais Shaifta, chief executive of Push Doctor, said: “Back when we decided to close our private service at the end of last year, nobody could have predicted what was to come in 2020.
“When Covid-19 struck, our immediate priority was to support the NHS, both through adding additional clinical capacity and helping with the backlog of patients through video consultations. I’m proud of the support we have been able to provide throughout the crisis.
“While this will continue, we feel that now is the right time to relaunch our private service. As people embrace digital health and demand for our services continues to grow, we are pleased to be able to meet this need for those who want it.”
