Our March edition of Movers and Shakers features a flurry of appointments at NHSX, and Graphnet recruiting a new customer success director.


NHSX have made a number of appointments in March. First up, Kwesi Afful has been appointed at the assistant director of programmes. NHSX’s CIO Sonia Patel tweeted the announcement, saying Afful would be “championing” the integrated care system (ICS) agenda.

Afull will be joined by Anna Hawksley, who has been appointed as NHSX’s assistant director for frontline acute programmes. Patel tweeted to say Hawksley has a “strong track record of delivering large scale digital programmes for the NHS”.


Kanwal Stolworthy has been appointed to the new role of customer success director at Graphnet, heading up the company’s growing customer success team.

Her responsibilities will include working with integrated care system leaders to help deliver their digital transformation priorities, using Graphnet’s shared record, population health analytics and PHR to develop and embed new care pathways. She will also drive knowledge-sharing across Graphnet’s customer base.

Kanwal is a skilled transformation specialist with 13 years’ experience delivering service redesign initiatives for local government and the NHS, including seven years working on integrated care digital transformation projects and two years working in a start-up environment.


Digital health provider Reframe has appointed former McKesson and Amazon director Catherine McDermott as chief executive officer.

As CEO, McDermott will focus on expanding Reframe’s position in the digital health space as a leader in transforming the way individuals experience healthcare as the business diversifies from it’s core offering of personalised cancer support into multiple healthcare areas.

McDermott said: “Reframe has achieved remarkable growth over the last few years, building an impressive client roster of household names and healthcare providers, revolutionising the way that businesses approach individual wellbeing with proactive and effective support when faced with a health condition or event.

“Leading Reframe will allow me to fully indulge my passion for making tech work better for healthcare as we issue in a new era of hyper personalised, connected health and wellbeing services that will benefit companies and individuals alike.”
