Leva Clinic to expand digital pain services with Boots deal
People living with chronic pain can now download an app offering “world-leading” expertise in pain management through the Boots Health Hub.
Leva Clinic has partnered with Boots UK & Ireland to offer its pain management app through the high-street retailers health hub.
The online clinic specialises in chronic pain, and its team of in-house, multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals have condensed world-leading expertise into a personal pain management programme, according to the company.
The programme will be available to purchase as an app, via the Boots Health Hub, and helps users manage their pain by better understanding it.
The new programme includes 12 modules which patients can work through independently at a convenient time. Topics include understanding pain, communicating about your pain, relationships, movement and medications.
As well as the modules to work through, users will also have access to daily mindfulness practices courtesy of the clinical psychologist team. Plus an instant chat service with Leva Health’s health coach team will help and support users to achieve their health goals.
Rich Corbridge, CIO at Boots UK and Ireland, said: “Innovation and change in healthcare has to be based on what patients want and need. The partnership between Boots and Leva is based on how we can deliver to a need that has been well identified by the team.
“The partnership has been created to ensure innovation for the benefit of patients can be made available to them as widely as possible and as quickly as possible.”
At the end of last year, Leva Clinic – which is registered with the Care Quality Commission – rolled out a pilot of its online clinic for persistent pain to an unnamed London NHS trust.
Now it is hoped the new collaboration with the high street clinic will ease some of the increasing demand of patients who are awaiting pain services due to the pandemic.
