Milton Keynes GP practice partners up with Livi to offer video consultations

A GP practice in Milton Keynes has partnered up with Livi to offer video consultations for patients which includes weekend and evening appointments.

The Whitehouse Surgery, which is run by the OneMedical Group, will offer video appointments with an NHS doctor between 7am and 10pm during the week, in addition to 8am-4pm at weekends and bank holidays. Appointments can be made up to five days in advance.

Harriet Bradley, UK medical director at Livi, said: “We want all patients to have access to high-quality care when and where they need it. Following our partnership with The Whitehouse Practice, busy parents, commuters and people working from home can now speak to a doctor, often in a matter of minutes, at a time that works for them.”

NHS patients can access video consultations with GPs and other healthcare professionals via their smartphone, tablet or computer – a paid service is also available to anyone in the UK.

Kate Parker, director of NHS Services, OneMedical Group, added: “We are a practice that is community focused with services built around our growing patient base’s needs. Livi is a key addition that ensures we can provide the best possible care to our patients seven days a week”.

The partnership follows on from the success of The Light Surgery in Leeds which incorporated Livi’s digital tools. There, the GPs reported the tools helped relieve their workloads enabling them to deliver 7,500 appointments over the course of a year.

Other NHS partnerships for Livi include South and East Leeds GP group, OneMedicalGroup of Yorkshire, and City Healthcare Partnership in Hull. In April last year Livi also announced it had been chosen by Boots as its preferred partner.
