Part of Allscripts re-branded to Altera Digital Health

Allscripts’ hospitals and large physician practices business has officially been bought by Harris Computer Corporation and will now been known as Altera Digital Health.

Harris announced in March 2022 that it was planning on acquiring part of Allscripts which covers the Sunrise, Paragon, Allscripts TouchWorks, Allscripts Opal, STAR, HealthQuest and dbMotion solutions.

In a statement at the time, Allscripts added that its Veradigm business segment are not included in the deal and will continue to be owned by them.

Harris confirmed on 6 May 2022 that the deal had officially gone through, adding that the involved solutions would “operate as Altera Digital Health, a business unit of Harris Healthcare”.

With regards to price, in March 2022 it was confirmed that the deal was worth £526million ($700million) and consists of a fixed price of £503million ($670million) being paid once the deal is closed, plus a contingent consideration of up to £22.5million ($30million), which will be based on the performance of the business during the two years following the deal closing.
