Leeds and York Partnership sign 10-year deal with IMMJ Systems

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a 10-year contract to IMMJ Systems to provide an electronic document management system (EDMS).

The contract forms part of a major project to digitise medical records, which will see the trust’s legacy and active patient records securely scanned into IMMJ’s MediViewer. It is hoped having an EDMS will support more accurate searching and use of existing and legacy clinical information.

In addition, the EDMS will enable mobile clinical-decision making support for the trust’s clinicians, and ensure clinical teams have access to the most accurate information. All of this will be integrated into Leeds and York Partnership’s EPR, CareDirector, which went live during the height of the pandemic.

Bill Fawcett, chief information officer for Leeds and York Partnership, said: “Our goal is to ensure that all our service user records are available in the right place, at the right time, all the time. We believe this project will improve both service user care and the working lives of our clinical staff.”

The MediViewer EDMS delivers a platform for the storage of scanned medical records. It also incorporates a wide range of clinical feeds using the flexibility of the MediViewer API and architecture to centralise patient information.

The system uses technology which can ingest information that is scanned or digital, and uses SmartIndexing technology to classify that information in real-time. This means key content can easily be found at the point of care.

Lisa Harris, chief operations officer at IMMJ Systems, said: “By integrating MediViewer with the trust’s EPR, clinicians will have a seamless experience navigating patient records and unstructured content. A significant benefit to the speed in which accurate clinical decisions are made, something many of IMMJ Systems live customer sites are already reaping the benefits of.”

Fawcett added: “This is a great step forward for the trust which complements the significant strides we have already made in our digital journey. We are excited to be working with IMMJ Systems and believe their values and passion for digital excellence will serve our patients and staff very well.”
