The Health Informatics Service deploys LogRhythm Axon

NHS organisation The Health Informatics Service (THIS) is set to transform healthcare security following the deployment of LogRhythm Axon, a 100% cloud-native security and operations platform.

The partnership marks LogRhythm’s first Axon customer in Europe, while THIS will benefit from an easy-to-navigate and affordable cloud-native SaaS platform. The simple platform helps to minimise expenses and deliver a solution for security teams to identify threats.

Peter Howson, commercial director at THIS, said: “We were looking for a cost-efficient security solution to support Bradford District & Craven without operational complexities. With this in mind, we selected Axon for its affordability and ease-of-use.

“LogRhythm Axon takes care of threat hunting so we can focus on what matters most – providing a consistent and reliable experience to our customers it’s deployed to.”

Axon’s intuitive interface provides analysts with contextual analytics into cybersecurity threats to help them quickly secure their environments. It aims to deliver a seamless security experience, by reducing the burden of managing threats and operating infrastructure.

Kev Eley, VP sales UK and Europe at LogRhythm, said: “The threat landscape in Europe is currently experiencing rapid growth, with more organisations featuring in headlines after falling victim to sophisticated attacks. Amongst these organisations, the healthcare industry is one of the biggest targets for threat actors due to the highly confidential patient data it is responsible for.

“By deploying LogRhythm Axon, THIS gains a user-friendly security solution. This is just the beginning of Axon’s presence in Europe. We look forward to helping organisations overcome mounting security pressures with powerful security analytics.”

The past couple of months alone has seen healthcare organisations targeted by cyberthreats. In June Health Service Ireland (HSE) became a victim of the MOVEit supply chain cyber attack.

Then this month Barts Health NHS Trust’s name appeared on the dark web victim blog of the ransomware gang BlackCat, who claimed to have stolen more than seven TB of sensitive data.

THIS will serve one of its key customers within the Bradford District and Craven Place with the platform.
