Propel@YH welcomes 11 new innovators to accelerator programme

Yorkshire & Humber’s Propel@YH digital accelerator programme has selected the next 11 health tech innovators who will benefit from tailored support to enable accelerated company growth and increased market presence.

The accelerator is in its fifth year and specifically focuses on innovative digital health solutions that can benefit the region’s population as well as the wider health economy. The scheme is run by Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber.

This year’s diverse mix of companies include several hailing from Yorkshire. The 2023 Propel@YH cohorts are:

THEIA AI: AI software that supports neurological decision-making.

MediTask: App that connects clinicians and students to deliver time and efficiency savings.

Pogo Digital Health: Digital products for clear communication pathways.

Doctoria: Virtual healthcare platform connecting doctors and patients

Inicio: products to support digital transformation and enhance patient experiences

Neu Health: a platform and patient programme to designed to digitally measure clinically relevant symptoms of Parkinson’s and dementia

Optimise BP: Hypertension app to support patients to manage their condition and reduce the need for clinical input.

MyOpNotes: Digital platform that streamlines writing operation notes for surgeons.

Sympa Health: Self-care app to support empowered healthcare choices for women.

Enrich My Care: Health and care monitoring platform for children and young people with disabilities.

MAIYA: Automated assistant that supports primary care with the management of long- term conditions.

The Propel@YH accelerator is set to commence on 19th October and will offer the companies involved support from a range of expert partners. These include legal advice from Hill Dickinson, networking opportunities courtesy of Nexus, University of Leeds, growth support from Barclays Eagle Labs, investment advice from Par Equity, NHS insight and strategy from Leeds Teaching Hospitals Innovation Pop Up with Leeds City Council bringing networking contacts to the programme.

Dr Neville Young, director of enterprise and innovation at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber said: “We’re delighted to welcome the 11 SMEs to the region and are really excited to launch the programme for a fifth year. We hope to see them grow and join our thriving health ecosystem.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the chosen SMEs to receive expert advice and guidance from Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber and our key partners, so they can navigate the NHS market, increase their presence in the region and spread their innovations for the benefit of those living and working in Yorkshire and the Humber.

“Our work with innovator companies is a central element of our role as we seek to encourage health innovation and stimulate growth in life sciences and industry across our region.”

Last year’s cohort included VIKO.ai, an AI-powered digital self-service platform and ehealth Compass, a clinical CRM platform to match patients to the right pathway to reduce health inequalities.
