PCMIS and SilverCloud collaborate for HSE programme

PCMIS Health Technologies has signed a contract to support SilverCloud by Amwell’s delivery of the National Digital Mental Health Program for Ireland.

The integration will help to ease access to Ireland’s mental health services and marks the first time that the two companies have collaborated on a national health programme.

PCMIS will provide its patient record system to the digital mental health platform for effective evidence-based base and risk management and outcome monitoring.

In addition, it will facilitate comprehensive national reporting as part of the next phase of the SilverCloud and Ireland Health Service Executive (HSE) partnership.

Byron George, chief executive officer at PCMIS Health Technologies said: “This is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our working partnership with SilverCloud by Amwell for the public good. As an evidence-based, clinically led health technology company we share a set of values, as well as health care clients, with the SilverCloud platform and are excited to be supporting their already impactful work in Ireland.”

Back in November 2022, the HSE announced its partnership with SilverCloud, which aimed to tackle the growing need for mental health support access in the country.

Through this partnership, clinicians in Ireland can refer patients to SilverCloud’s guided digital CBT programmes. Over the past 10 months, active use of the platform in Ireland has increased by 85%, and 59% of users with clinical levels of anxiety have shown clinically meaningful improvement.

PCMIS and Amwell have a history of collaboration and integration. Back in 2019 they were the first to offer a ‘digital first’ referral and treatment pathway for NHS England Talking Therapies service. Working jointly on Ireland’s national health programme marks a new phase in their integrated approach to use technology to drive service efficiencies and patient outcomes.

Hannah Farrell, supervisor of SilverCloud clinical operations at Amwell, said: “The SilverCloud platform delivers a series of evidence-based mental health programmes to a wide range of customers in Ireland, including a national contract with the HSE. As we continue to grow, we require an effective online mental health case management system and this is what PCMIS have worked with us to provide.”

The most recent integration began in May 2023, with the aim of the integration and case management capabilities to be in place to support the HSE programme in November 2023.
