Five hidden gems from the Rewired programme one-day stages
- 15 February 2024
Rewired24 is just four weeks away and conference organisers have highlighted five recently added sessions participants won’t want to miss.
Rewired24 is running from 12-13 March 2024 at the NEC Birmingham. With more than 300 speakers confirmed, it is guaranteed to be a must-attend event.
The five main stages – Digital Transformation, Integrated Care, Leadership and Teams, AI Data and Analytics and Best Practice – run across both days of the conference and feature a range of speakers from national government, trusts and companies supplying the NHS.
Further one-day stages – Smart Health, Cyber Security, Patient Engagement and Innovation – were published last week as part of the full conference programme. As excitement mounts for the event, we highlight some recently added sessions packed with actionable takeaways.
Day one
Kicking off the conversation on the Smart Health stage is Building smarter hospitals to digitally enable better patient care, a session covering the latest information on the New Hospital Programme using digital for smart hospital design.
It would be a shame to miss this fantastic opportunity to learn from NHP’s evidence-based approach, its digital vision and the impact on patient outcomes and staff.
Speakers will include the NHP’s director of digital, Sarah Thomas, Dr Rosa Montero, CSH/UKKA sustainable kidney care group scholar, St George’s University Hospitals NHS FT and Professor Sergio Cavalaro, AIP lead and associate dean for research and innovation, Academia-Industry-Partnership (AIP).
Over on the Cyber Security Stage later in the afternoon, delegates should be sure to catch Cyber Infrastructure: How to assure the resiliency of your supply chain, featuring insights from the West Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit on incident response and accessing free Law Enforcement support for NHS outlets in the UK. In addition, there is an opportunity to learn about best practice for data confidentiality and integrity, and the challenges when working with third parties while maintaining data integrity.
The session will include presentations from Alun Kime, cyber security contracts manager at Digital Health and Care Wales and DS Ed Trimbee CISM, regional cyber crime unit manager at West Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit.
Day two
Fancy starting day two with some music? On the Patient Engagement Stage, day two kicks off with
Driving patient centric innovation, which features a live demonstration from therapeutic music app SingFit, followed by a presentation on the groundbreaking initiative transforming heart health care in Cheshire and Merseyside. The session will also delve into how Guy’s and St Thomas’ is enabling digital cancer care to empower patients beyond the hospital walls.
Speakers include Liz Ashall-Payne, CEO of ORCHA and Dr Majid Kazmi, director of innovation for cancer and surgery and deputy medical director at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS FT.
Over on the Innovation Stage, delegates can catch the lunchtime Masterclass: Why is the NHS so difficult to sell to? Attendees will hear from those who have navigated the procurement process and get advice on how to avoid bidding fatigue.
The session will feature Ian Hogan, CIO, Leeds and York Hospital NHS FT, Hassan Chaudhury, commercial director, DATA-CAN and Samantha Fay, CEO of SiSU Health.
Finally, delegates looking for better cooperation between the health service and suppliers should be sure not to miss How to get the best from collaborations between the NHS, SMEs and Industry, running mid-afternoon on the Innovation Stage.
The session will look at how effective and focused collaboration can help to address key NHS priorities, including health inequalities, prevention (especially LTC Management) and addressing backlog; with the patient at the centre.
Join Dr Tim Ringrose, CEO, Cognitant Group and president of the Digital Health Section at the Royal Society Medicine, Dr Mamta Bajre, lead health economist and methodologist at Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley and Becky Cotton, co-founder and CEO of Lumino, for this in-depth session.
