Alcidion and Novari team up to advance patient flow management

Alcidion Group Limited, a provider of FHIR-native patient flow solutions for healthcare, has joined forces with waitlist management and referral management tech provider, Novari, to deliver a comprehensive approach to patient journey management.

The strategic partnership between the two organisation will enhance the opportunity for the liberation of data, which will help drive operational efficiencies and reduce waiting times.

Often, delayed care, strained resources and frustrated patients come back to inefficient processes, administrative bottlenecks and fragmented data. Both companies are committed to addressing the critical challenges healthcare systems face when it comes to managing patient flow and patient access to care.

Kate Quirke, Alcidion CEO, said: “At Alcidion, our commitment has always been to enhance hospital operations, and our collaboration with Novari allows us to amplify our impact throughout the entire patient experience.”

Alcidion and Novari both offer technology that can support the efficient and effective delivery of care. Used in acute care settings, the Alcidion electronic patient journey boards deliver real-time information, ensuring clinicians and healthcare staff have a comprehensive view of patient, ward, site and health service capacity and demand. East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is one trust that is making use of the company’s patient flow software, after it deployed Miya Flow in 2022.

The Novari Access to Care Platform includes a series of software modules that can be used to drive down wait times and ensure patients are seen by the right person at the right time. Integrated software modules include those that provide surgical waitlist management, referral management, central intake and care coordination.

The technologies can support a systemwide approach from specialist referrals to inpatient admissions, all the way through to discharge. By making data easily accessible and mobile, engaging clinicians and helping to predict bottlenecks in the system, Alcidion and Novari’s technology will support effective management of a patient’s journey.

John Sinclair, CPHIMS, president and CEO, Novari Health, said: “The combined Alcidion and Novari capabilities address common challenges experienced by healthcare systems in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and beyond. Together, we can help our clients to deliver efficient and timely patient care.”
