East Midlands Digital Health Accelerator innovators announced

East Midlands Digital Health Accelerator programme has announced the five successful digital healthcare innovators who will be taking part in the 2024 programme to help the NHS address the challenges of supporting self-care, tackling waiting lists, and digital inclusion and accessibility.

The successful applicants are:

JanamApp: A culturally appropriate perinatal support for South Asian women, with content available in a range of languages.

SiSU Health: High accessibility self-service health checks aimed at hard-to-reach groups such as homeless people.

Tellmi: Anonymous, pre-moderated and age-banded mental health peer support for children and young people available from an inclusive digital community.

Strata Health: Pathways e-Referral and directory of services platform that enables inter-agency referral and transparency for patients.

Added Health: Health and wellness coaching service created by doctors, for people who are living with long-term conditions such as hypertension.

Each of the companies joining the accelerator will receive bespoke support from Health Innovation East Midlands – the innovation arm of the NHS in the East Midlands. The companies will be supported to develop their solutions and work collaboratively with local NHS and care organisations. The aim is to assist them in successfully identifying opportunities to deploy their innovations for the benefit of services and patients in the region.

Health Innovation East Midlands is one of 15 health innovation networks in England, that are working to accelerate healthcare innovations that can both benefit patients and the NHS, as well as generate economic growth.

Nick Hamilton, digital health navigator at Health Innovation East Midlands, said: “After a rigorous application process, involving a panel drawn from health systems across the region, we are looking forward to working with the 2024 cohort. Their solutions are ready to be implemented and have the potential to make a real difference to services and patients.

“Innovators from our 2023 programme, which focused on addressing workforce challenges, will continue to receive support through our EMDHA alumni programme.”

In 2021, Sapien Health was welcomed to the East Midlands Digital Health Accelerator programme, before being named a Rewired Pitchfest finalist in 2022.
