Mersey and West Lancashire implement Netcall digital solutions

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has announced a partnership with Netcall, to help transform patient engagement strategies through Netcall’s AI-powered automation and customer engagement solutions.

Netcall’s patient engagement portal, Patient Hub and Waiting List Validation solutions have been procured by Mersey and West Lancashire to support its patient engagement digital strategy.

The trust hopes to revolutionise and streamline the patient experience, generate renewed efficiencies and improve overall patient care with the solutions.

The Patient Hub tool enables patients to easily manage their appointments, access personalised health records and receive tailored notifications and reminders. It encourages a more proactive approach to healthcare, and helps build an environment of increased engagement and empowerment for patients.

Within the Patient Hub, the Waiting List Validation solution allows patients to assess their wait time and engages with patients about their treatment preferences, providing speciality-based, customisable responses.

Christine Walters, director of informatics at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, said: “Our collaboration with Netcall has empowered us to prioritise what’s important to our trust right now, which is waiting list validation. We have implemented the Waiting List Validation solution within one month, enabling us to better manage patient flow and ensure timely, efficient care for our patients.

“Our partnership will help us to empower our patients, giving them greater control over their healthcare journey. By adopting Patient Hub, we are equipping patients with the tools they need to actively participate in their care, leading to better health outcomes and satisfaction.”

As well as improving patient care experiences, the new partnership also aims to deliver improved staff capacity at Mersey and West Lancashire.

John Clarke, director of client solutions at Netcall, added: “By leveraging our industry-leading solutions, the trust is demonstrating its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and driving operational efficiency. We look forward to supporting them on their journey to transforming healthcare experiences in the region.”

Last August saw Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust also align itself with Netcall to help optimise referrals and allow patients greater control and convenience over their appointments.
