Abdulhussein and Gudgeon confirmed as AI and Data 2024 speakers

Dr Hatim Abdulhussein and Jules Gudgeon have been confirmed as speakers at Digital Health AI and Data 2024, which will take place at London Olympia, 22-23 October.

Dr Abdulhussein, CEO of Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex, and part of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Technology Appraisals and Health AI Steering committees, champions ethical digital and AI transformation in healthcare.

His focus is on workforce readiness for emerging technologies. During AI and Data, he will delve into augmenting the clinical workforce with AI and digital advancements. The former national clinical lead for AI and digital workforce at NHS England is also expected to discuss enhancing the clinical workforce with AI and digital.

Gudgeon is the national NHS leader responsible for digitising maternity services. She returns to AI and Data after making her debut in 2023, when she talked about AI’s impact on maternity care, revealing that Portsmouth Hospitals’ maternity unit used AI to reduce its administration hours by 17,610 in the first year and cut referral time from two months to 24 hours.

One of the most senior individuals in the midwifery space and a champion for digital inclusion and upskilling, Gudgeon’s dedication is highlighted by her pivotal role in the NHS Digital Maternity Programme and creation of the Digital Maternity Leaders Community.

In the lead up to speaking at AI and Data 2023, Gudgeon appeared on Digital Health Unplugged to speak about the impact of AI in nursing and midwifery.

The first two speakers to be announced for AI and Data 2024 were Dr Nicola Byrne, national data guardian for health and adult social care in England, and Haris Shuaib, CEO of Newton’s Tree and head of the clinical scientific computing section at Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Following a hugely successful inaugural show, Digital Health AI and Data returns, promising more national keynotes, expert and original speakers, NHS best practice sessions, educational case studies, innovative start-ups and high-quality networking opportunities.

Register here to join these speakers and 2000+ attendees at AI and Data 2024, October 22-23 at London Olympia – free for NHS, charity, and education.
